First Class all the way as complimentary breakfast now available in East Midlands Trains First Class Lounges

• Light breakfast now available free of charge in First Class Lounges at Sheffield, Derby, Nottingham, Leicester and St Pancras.

• Cereals, croissants, yoghurts and fruit available every weekday until 9.00am.

• Launched following trial with positive feedback from customers.

Customers travelling with East Midlands Trains can now enjoy a First Class experience from start to finish with the launch of a new complimentary breakfast offer in the company’s five main First Class Lounges.

A choice of cereals, croissants, yoghurts and fruit are now available every weekday until 9.00am, as well as the usual complimentary hot and cold drinks and biscuits.

Neil Micklethwaite, Customer Service & Commercial Director for East Midlands Trains, said: “We’re constantly looking for ways to improve and enhance the service our customers receive and give them that little bit extra for their money.

“Customers can already have a complimentary breakfast when travelling in First Class on one of our breakfast trains, and we wanted to extend that to our First Class Lounges to ensure that people had a great First Class experience from start to finish. We’ve got some great value First Class tickets on offer for customers and we want to make sure that everybody gets the full First Class treatment when they travel with us.

“By providing a light breakfast in the lounges, it means that people can have the best of both worlds – a light breakfast at the station and then a full English on the train.

“We’ve already had some great feedback from our customers and from staff working in the First Class Lounges and we’re certain it will be very popular with our customers.”

The new complimentary First Class Lounge breakfast offer was first trialed at Nottingham station and received very positive feedback from passengers. Following the trial, it has now been rolled out to the First Class lounges at Sheffield, Derby, Leicester, St Pancras and Nottingham and will be available every weekday until 9.00am.

Complimentary drinks and snacks are always available in the First Class Lounges.
