Cross Country Trains Service Alterations

Cross Country Trains

Service alterations in the South West and on the Thames Valley, until further notice.

Recent severe weather has caused substantial damage to the railway at Dawlish (between Exeter St Davids and Newton Abbot). In addition there is extensive flooding south of Bristol and on the Thames Valley near Oxford.

Special ticketing arrangements from 10 February

Special ticketing arrangements have been introduced for the South West from Monday 10th February 2014 until further notice.

CrossCountry Advance tickets to/from Exeter will be valid for travel to any station west of Exeter for no additional cost. This means if you are travelling between stations west of Exeter and other locations on the CrossCountry network, you only need to purchase a CrossCountry Advance ticket to or from Exeter St Davids. So, please purchase an Advance ticket to Exeter St Davids if travelling into the West Country; an Advance ticket from Exeter St Davids if travelling from the West Country to destinations on the CrossCountry network.

Journeys wholly west of Exeter (e.g. Penzance to Plymouth) are not covered by this arrangement and you will need to purchase a ticket as normal as regular rail services will be operating.
